Anesthetic recovery is one of the most physically and emotionally vulnerable periods for many patients. This protocol recommends performing recovery in calm, warm, and minimally stimulating environments while avoiding unnecessary handling during the initial stages of awakening.
Additional recommendations include controlling environmental noise, reducing bright lighting, and limiting direct visual exposure to other animals during recovery. In disoriented or highly sensitive patients, simple measures such as padded bedding, dim lighting, and individualized supervision may substantially reduce anxiety and postoperative agitation.
The objective is to facilitate a smoother, calmer, and more comfortable transition between anesthesia and full recovery of consciousness.
