The physical environment in which an animal is hospitalized has a direct impact on both emotional welfare and clinical recovery. This protocol encourages adapting lighting, temperature, ventilation, bedding comfort, and environmental stability according to the specific needs of each patient and species. Recommendations include avoiding excessively bright lighting for prolonged periods, maintaining stable room temperatures, providing comfortable and non-slip resting surfaces, and reducing strong chemical odors whenever possible. Additional emphasis is placed on creating quieter and lower-stimulation areas for geriatric, anxious, or particularly sensitive patients. Appropriate environmental adaptation can significantly decrease hospitalization-related stress and promote a physiological state more compatible with healing and recovery.
