Post-Sedation Recovery Protocols

Post-Sedation Recovery Protocols

The recovery period following sedation or anesthesia represents a particularly vulnerable phase from both a physiological and emotional perspective. This protocol recommends providing patients with a calm, warm, and low-stimulation environment during the initial stages of recovery.

Recommendations include avoiding unnecessary handling while the patient regains consciousness, maintaining comfortable and safe body positioning, reducing environmental noise, limiting intense lighting, and monitoring individually for signs of anxiety, agitation, disorientation, or vocalization during awakening. In especially sensitive patients, a gradual and carefully controlled recovery process can significantly reduce post-procedural stress and improve overall emotional comfort following clinical intervention.
