Advanced Gestational Nutrition

Advanced Gestational Nutrition

Nutrition during pregnancy plays a fundamental role in both maternal health and the proper development of puppies or kittens. This protocol recommends establishing individualized nutritional plans adapted to species, size, body condition, reproductive stage, and the specific needs of each pregnant female.

Beyond simply increasing caloric intake, the protocol emphasizes nutritional quality, balanced intake of essential nutrients, and the prevention of both deficiencies and excesses that may compromise maternal or neonatal health. Regular body weight monitoring and progressive nutritional adjustment throughout pregnancy are recommended, avoiding abrupt dietary changes or inappropriate feeding practices.

Adequate hydration, digestive comfort, and reduced competition or stress during feeding should also be actively promoted. The objective is to make gestational nutrition a central tool for welfare, prevention, and clinical support for both the mother and the future newborns.
