Reduction of Unnecessary Interventions

Reduction of Unnecessary Interventions

In reproductive care, excessive handling or premature intervention may significantly increase stress and risk of complications for both the mother and newborns. This protocol promotes performing only those interventions that are genuinely necessary from a clinical perspective, avoiding invasive procedures or repeated manipulation without clear objective indication.

The mother’s general condition should be carefully assessed before intervening, allowing appropriate physiological time during the different stages of labor whenever there are no signs of fetal distress or maternal compromise. Constant examinations, unnecessary movement, repeated relocation, and environmental disruption should be minimized throughout the reproductive process.

The objective is to promote a more respectful and physiological approach to birth, ensuring that clinical supervision does not automatically lead to excessive medicalization of a natural process.
