Neonatal Environmental Control

Neonatal Environmental Control

The neonatal environment directly influences survival, physiological stability, and welfare during the first weeks of life. This protocol recommends paying close attention to essential parameters such as temperature, humidity, ventilation, hygiene, and the reduction of aggressive environmental stimuli within neonatal areas.

Key recommendations include maintaining stable and age-appropriate temperatures, avoiding drafts, reducing loud noises, and minimizing sudden environmental changes during the first days of life. Safe, comfortable, and easy-to-clean surfaces should also be used, while maternal interaction and litter behavior should be continuously monitored.

The objective is to create a physiologically stable neonatal environment that reduces stress, supports rest, and facilitates healthier development for both the mother and newborns.
